The Coalition of Youth Councils is a federally registered not-for-profit corporation focused on empowering youth to influence public policy, facilitate in community development, and learn more about municipal government through participation. The CYC helps youth develop a greater sense of purpose and responsibility, informs them about what is happening in their city, and promotes the valuable contributions they make to the vitality of their local communities.

The CYC is an umbrella organization with a long-term vision to have chapters in every local and regional municipality accross Canada. Currently there is one chapter in Toronto, with three chapters in development in Ottawa, Mississauga, and Durham Region.
